While Jesus was here on earth, He always knew what the right thing to do because He only did what He saw and heard His Father do, so as our Lord, shouldn’t we trust Him to lead us down the right path every day?

“For this God is our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end.” -Psalm 48:14

When people visit a new place, they often hire a guide to show you around so you don’t spend most of the time lost and desperately trying to find your way. How wonderful is it to know that we have an eternal guide that will stay with us to show us how to get us from one destination in life to the next? Sometimes we live life as if we are the tour guide, traveling through life our own way like we know where we are going, and almost always we end up wandering aimlessly on our own. We humans are stubborn and want to do things our way and on our own terms, instead of taking the easier option, to follow an experienced guide, the Father, who is committed to guiding us, has already chosen a path and laid it out for you.

"It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure." 2 Samuel 22:33

This verse clearly lays out the importance of following the eternal guide and God's whispers little reminders to us to give us hope to follow Him and trust His path.

"You are secure in Me. You are held strong by My protection. Overhead the storms of life may surround you, the winds may blow, the rains may beat down hard, and times may look dark, but My Presence surrounds you and I am greater than the storm."

Now, God never said that just because we are under His care, storms won’t happen, but He does say He will provide incredible strength and protection for every battle we may face in our lives. Everybody finds themselves facing huge storms at some point in life, and these storms could be caused by things that you can’t control, by broken relationships, or betrayal/hurt from those you thought would always be there for you. Maybe the biggest storm you will face is caused by the enemy himself, whose main goal is to simply bring you down and stop you from being a light in this dark world. God reminds us in His word that stealing, killing, and destroying is the enemy's only intent; he is ruthless and cruel and he will do all he can to prevent God’s truth from being shared. However, neither the enemy nor the storms will ever have full reign over us, because, right in the middle of them all, He reminds us that we are held secure in the love of a Mighty God. There still will be times you may feel some wind and times you may hear the loud thunder, times where you will see darkness or rain all around, but through it all His covering of protection and love will surround you and never leave you. You will never face the storms alone and, in time, the storms will pass and the light will shine through once again filling you with strength for a greater work ahead.

This next part is something I have never done in a blog post before, but I feel that it may help some people in their daily walk and help remind those facing struggles that God is always with them.

I challenge you today to write down all the storms you’re facing in life right now on a piece of paper (make sure you leave space between each storm). It does not matter how small they may seem or how insufficient they may feel, God knows them all. Now, either beside or under each storm, write down this verse,

"It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure." -2 Samuel 22:33.

I want you to put this list in a place you’ll see it daily, like tucked in your Bible, or on the bathroom mirror, or even in your car, and use it to remind yourself, that you will never face a storm alone. God is always with you, providing you with daily strength and giving you peace and joy in the midst of the toughest times. Trust Him, even though you can’t figure it all right now, He knows what is up ahead, and He is building greatness within you.
